Cross-linked polyethylene is the answer to a specific complaint about ordinary PE and PVC: they soften, they creep, and they will flow away from a hot terminal given enough time. Cross-linking turns the polymer thermoset<\/strong> — it can no longer melt, only char — and that one change is what takes a cheap, tough, easily stripped insulation from 80 °C to 150 °C.<\/p>\n

TEBAOFLEX builds the family across seven UL AWM styles<\/strong>, from 90 °C to 150 °C and 300 V to 600 V, on solid or stranded copper:<\/p>\n

UL 3320<\/strong> (90 °C \/ 600 V, to 2 AWG) · UL 3385<\/strong> (105 °C \/ 300 V) · UL 3287<\/strong> (105 °C \/ 600 V, high-strength copper) · UL 3266<\/strong> (125 °C \/ 300 V) · UL 3173<\/strong> (125 °C \/ 600 V) · UL 3271<\/strong> (125 °C \/ 600 V, to 2000 kcmil, motor leads) · UL 3321<\/strong> (150 °C \/ 600 V, to 4\/0).<\/p>\n

Two things set this family apart from the fluoropolymers and silicones elsewhere in our cable de alta temperatura<\/a> range. The first is price<\/strong>: at 125 °C, cross-linked polyolefin does a job that would otherwise need PFA or silicone, for a fraction of the cost. The second is that the compound can be made halogen-free, low-smoke and flame-retardant<\/strong> — which no UL style number will tell you, because halogen-free is a property of the compound and not of the style.<\/p>\n

El XLPO<\/strong> variant of UL 3173 adds UV and ozone resistance and is the one used on the DC side of photovoltaic and energy storage equipment. It is the same style number as the XLPE version, and that surprises people — see the Standards tab.<\/p>\n
