UL 5390 wire selection

UL 5390 is a UL-certified mica-glass wire rated 550°C and 300 V AC for internal equipment wiring. Its high-temperature insulation system combines mica with a treated fiberglass braid around the conductor.

The dimension table gives six stranded nickel-coated copper configurations from 24 AWG to 14 AWG. Every row identifies UL 5390 with the wire size and includes strand count, finished diameter, approximate weight and minimum bend radius. A separate thickness schedule covers the wider 24–4 AWG style range. This keeps dimensioned constructions distinct from the broader conductor sizes permitted by the style.

For a hot-zone equipment lead, confirm the temperature at the wire and termination, the required operating voltage and the space available for a supported route. The 550°C rating does not increase the 300 V voltage rating. The optional stainless-steel braid shield is a separate construction choice and should be stated on the order if required; it is not included in the unshielded dimension table.
