UL 3580 wire selection

UL 3580 is a UL-certified silicone motor lead wire rated 150°C and 1000 V AC. It is intended for motor leads and internal appliance or electronic equipment wiring where the lead is protected from mechanical abuse.

The detailed size table covers 26–6 AWG. Nominal silicone thickness is 1.20 mm in the 26–10 AWG rows and 1.58 mm in the 8–6 AWG rows. Conductor stranding and finished diameter are listed with each model-size combination to help check motor terminal entries, connection boxes and protective sleeves. A separate insulation schedule explains the larger conductor groups within the style range.

For a motor connection, allow space for the finished wire rather than selecting the entry around the bare conductor size. The listed construction uses a bend radius of 10 times its finished diameter. Check the temperature near the winding exit and at the connection hardware, because the 150°C wire rating must be compatible with the rest of the assembly.
