Product information
Product overview

SRG-K is a 200°C, 600 V multicore lead cable for motor, transformer and other electrical-equipment connections where several heat-resistant conductors must follow one route. The key construction detail is the distinction between the two braids: each tinned-copper conductor receives silicone rubber insulation and a fiberglass braid, while the assembled cable has an outer aramid-fiber braid. Calling the entire product simply “fiberglass cable” would omit the outer covering; calling the individual insulated cores aramid-covered would misstate the layer sequence. Related high-temperature cable constructions: High Temperature Cables.

The supplied specification has eight configurations: 14 AWG with 7 strands per conductor or 12 AWG with 19 strands per conductor, each available with three, four, five or seven conductors. The nominal outside diameter increases from 0.400 to 0.570 in across the table. Choose the core count according to the equipment circuit rather than adding unused cores without checking routing space. Check the actual termination, temperature exposure and installed bend against the design drawing; the source does not provide an independent minimum bend-radius value for this cable.

For a single-core 200°C glass-braided alternative, compare the fiberglass-braided silicone wire. For a single-conductor lead with an aramid covering and an explicit numeric UL style, compare the UL 3410 page. For mica/glass multicore cable at higher stated temperature, compare the 450°C family. This SRG-K page is organised around the real 14/12 AWG and 3–7-core configurations, not a generic high-temperature claim. Include conductor identification, cable length and any required flame-test documentation in the RFQ.

Construction

SRG-K layer sequence

  1. Conductors: stranded, annealed tinned copper; 7 strands per 14 AWG core or 19 per 12 AWG core in the supplied schedule.
  2. Individual core insulation: silicone rubber with a fiberglass braid.
  3. Assembly: three, four, five or seven insulated cores cabled together.
  4. Overall covering: aramid-fiber braid. The source labels this braid “Kevlar thickness” in its table; the public description uses the generic material name and does not adopt a trade mark.

The source gives a 0.030 in nominal outer aramid-braid thickness for all listed configurations. Core-colour sequencing can be specified for the equipment drawing rather than assumed from another manufacturer's stock chart.

Applications

Motor, transformer and equipment leads

Use the multicore SRG-K construction when several 600 V circuits or leads must travel together through a high-temperature section of a motor, transformer or electrical-equipment assembly. The silicone-insulated cores address the heat requirement, while the outer aramid braid gives the assembled cable a separate fibrous covering. The supplied reference also discusses hazardous/high-temperature equipment conditions; suitability for a specific hazardous-area installation depends on the equipment and installation requirements, not this generic product name.

Specify the conductor size, conductor count, colour identification and termination environment before ordering. A 200°C rating does not establish permission for repeated motion, direct burial, immersion or use without appropriate cable support.

All rows have tinned copper conductors, silicone-rubber insulation, glass-braided individual cores and a 200°C/600 V family rating. The source does not give a numeric silicone or individual glass-braid wall, conductor resistance or current rating; those values are not inferred.

Metric equivalents: values marked ≈ are approximate conversions of the supplied nominal inch and lb/1,000 ft data, rounded to 0.01 mm and the nearest kg/km. They are not independent manufacturing tolerances or newly measured specifications.

Standards

Standard and test references

The supplied SRG-K data lists NEMA WC 3 and the IEEE 1202 vertical cable-tray flame-propagation test. These are the stated standard/test references for this construction. A numeric UL AWM style is not stated in the supplied SRG-K PDF, so the product is not described here as a specific UL-numbered style. If the equipment specification requires a UL style marking or a test report, include that requirement with the requested 14 or 12 AWG configuration.
