JTW-LD-997 Resettable Analogue Linear Heat Detection Cable
JTW-LD-997 resettable analogue linear heat detection cable senses temperature changes along a protected route using a heat-sensitive polymer system. This 200 m-zone construction uses a factory-selected 70–130 °C alarm profile, with recovery limited to 120 °C peak exposure and a matching sensing interface.
JTW-LD-997 resettable analogue linear heat detection cable provides a continuous heat-sensing element for cable routes, conveyors and equipment areas where access to individual point detectors is difficult. Its temperature-sensitive insulation changes electrical resistance as heat exposure changes, allowing the matched sensing interface to identify an alarm condition along the protected cable.
This page covers the 200 m-zone construction with a factory-selected alarm profile between 70 °C and 130 °C and an 85 °C default profile. Recovery is limited to a maximum cable exposure of 120 °C. Select the alarm threshold and expected peak exposure together when repeatable operation is required; the selected alarm temperature and recovery limit are separate design conditions.
The cable is installed with a matched sensing interface and end-of-line supervision. The supply length can be 200 m or 600 m, while each protected zone in this construction remains limited to 200 m. Roll length therefore serves procurement and cutting plans, whereas zone length controls the detector layout. The selected protective covering must also suit the route, fixing method and ambient conditions.
For a quotation, send the detector designation, required alarm profile, normal ambient temperature, protected-route drawing, zone lengths, covering option and quantity. Include the intended sensing interface and fire-alarm system documentation so that cable, supervision arrangement and commissioning requirements can be reviewed as one detection circuit.

Construction
The representative PVC-covered cable contains two twisted steel sensing conductors with heat-sensitive polymer insulation, protective tape and an outer covering. The illustration shows the sensing cable only; interface electronics and end-of-line devices are separate system components.

| Component | Material and construction |
|---|---|
| Sensing conductors | Two twisted steel conductors forming the continuous electrical sensing element. |
| Heat-sensitive polymer | Insulation whose resistance changes with temperature for analogue heat sensing. Maintain the specified sensing-interface relationship for the selected cable. |
| Protective wrap | Protective tape around the insulated sensing-conductor assembly. |
| Outer covering | PVC, nylon or steel covering options are listed for the family; the representative product image shows the PVC-covered construction. |
| Circuit termination | A matched end-of-line device provides continuity supervision at the end of each sensing zone; leader-wire and interface connections follow the approved system layout. |
Applications
Route the sensing cable along the hazard area with suitable fixings and a defined zone plan. Choose the alarm profile from normal ambient conditions, required response and the maximum exposure compatible with recovery.

- Continuous heat monitoring along industrial cable trays and cable fields where point-detector access is restricted.
- Heat-sensing routes adjacent to material conveyors and industrial equipment, with the cable supported clear of moving parts.
- Local overheating and fire detection around plant and equipment when the matched detector system is specified for that location.
- Distributed alarm sensing along protected routes; use an RTD instrumentation circuit when the requirement is a defined point-temperature measurement.
- Keep each zone within the 200 m design limit for this construction and preserve the 15 mm minimum cable bend radius.
- Specify the normal ambient temperature, alarm profile, maximum heat exposure, covering and system interface before ordering.

The alarm profile is selected before shipment. Match normal ambient temperature to the operating limit of the selected profile.
Recovery depends on peak cable exposure remaining within 120 °C. The factory-selected alarm range and the recovery limit must both be considered in the detector design.
A 600 m supply roll is a procurement length; the protected zone for this construction is limited to 200 m.
The 20–26 VDC and 25/45 mA values belong to the matched sensing-system interface. Cable length, termination and electrical supervision are selected together.
Specify outside diameter, fixing details and the required protective covering on the project drawing. Keep the cable clear of sharp edges, local crushing and moving equipment.
