Selecting TYPE260 for the Intended Cable Duty
TYPE260 is a pliable armoured screened mining power cable for underground coal mine power supply and mine distribution duties where mechanical protection is required. It is intended for demanding underground routes where a flexible, protected cable is needed for project-specific mine power systems.
The product is suited to screened and armoured service in mining environments where handling stress and difficult conditions are part of the installation. It is positioned for underground service where the cable must be routed through constrained paths as part of a mine electrical system.
For quotation, confirm the intended installation method, route conditions, and project-specific cable requirements so the offered configuration can be matched to the application.
TYPE260 is suitable for underground coal mine power supply applications where an armoured screened supply cable is required and where mechanical protection and strength are part of the cable selection basis.
It should not be assumed suitable for shuttle-car trailing service or other mobile duties with a different operating profile unless TEBAOFLEX has separately reviewed the application.
The phase cores use tinned copper / nylon braided screens, and the cable includes galvanized steel pliable armour. This combination supports applications that call for both screened cores and mechanical protection in underground mining supply service.

Construction
TYPE260 uses three screened phase cores and three interstitial pilot cores laid around a semiconductive cradle, with flexible galvanized steel wire armour between the bedding and outer sheath.

| Layer or component | Construction detail |
|---|---|
| Phase conductor | Electrolytic stranded tinned copper conductor, AS/NZS 1125 Class 6. |
| Separator | Semiconducting separator layers for 3.3/3.3 kV and above, except pilot cores. |
| Insulation | R-EP-90 insulation according to AS/NZS 3808. |
| Core screen | Tinned copper / nylon braided screen over phase cores. |
| Core lay-up | Power cores laid over a semiconducting cradle without contacting each other, in contact with interstitial pilot cores. |
| Bedding | Elastomeric bedding compound. |
| Armour | Galvanized steel pliable armour according to AS/NZS 3863. |
| Outer sheath | Heavy-duty elastomer outer sheath according to AS/NZS 3808. |
Applications
TYPE260 is a pliable armoured and screened underground mining power cable for underground coal mine supply circuits where mechanical protection and cable strength are required.

- Power supply in underground coal mine installations.
- Armoured screened supply cable for mine distribution systems.
- Mining areas where explosive gases and dust can accumulate, subject to the applicable mine electrical design and local compliance requirements.
- Not proposed for shuttle-car trailing service unless separately engineered and approved for that duty.
