Product overview

Marine coaxial cables connect masthead VHF/UHF radio antennas, AIS transponders, DGPS/GNSS receivers, X-band/S-band radar transceivers, Inmarsat/VSAT satellite domes and onboard CCTV/MATV distribution networks. Standard PVC or PE commercial coaxial cables fail shipboard fire safety rules; these marine coaxial constructions replace PVC with halogen-free flame-retardant SHF1 or cross-linked oil-resistant SHF2 jackets tested to IEC 60332-1-2 and IEC 60332-3-22 Category A while preserving exact MIL-C-17 / DIN core and dielectric dimensions for standard N, BNC, TNC and UHF connectors.

The 50 Ω radio-frequency series includes compact RG-58 C/U (5.0 mm OD) and double-silver-braided RG-223/U (5.4 mm OD) for equipment rack jumpers and short cabin runs, alongside heavy-duty RG-213/U (10.3 mm OD) and double-silver-braided RG-214/U (10.8 mm OD) for mast feeders up to 3 GHz.

For long mast-to-bridge runs where standard solid-PE RG-213 attenuation is excessive, the low-loss 50 Ω 2.7/7.3 AF (9YH(ST)CH) construction uses a 2.75 mm solid copper inner conductor, 7.25 mm cellular foam-PE dielectric (85% velocity of propagation) and foil-plus-tinned-copper-braid shielding to cut signal loss in half across VHF, AIS and L-band satellite frequencies.

The 75 Ω video and satellite IF series covers RG-59 B/U (6.2 mm OD), double-screened RG-6/U (6.9 mm OD), long-haul RG-11/U (10.3 mm OD) and armoured RG-12 A/U (14.0 mm OD). Compare the dimensional and frequency-attenuation tables below and specify the RG type, 50 Ω or 75 Ω impedance, and SHF1 or SHF2 jacket grade for quotation.

All marine RG coaxial cables maintain standard MIL-C-17 core and dielectric diameters (e.g., 2.95 mm dielectric on RG-58/RG-223 and 7.25 mm dielectric on RG-213/RG-214/2.7-7.3 AF/RG-11), ensuring direct compatibility with standard crimp and clamp N, BNC, TNC and UHF connectors.

For high-power transmitters or RF runs routed parallel to radar waveguide/power feeders, select double-braided silver-plated RG-223/U or RG-214/U (screening attenuation ≥ 75–85 dB) or foil-plus-braid 2.7/7.3 AF (≥ 90 dB).
