MKYJV & MKYJVP (450/750 V) XLPE Insulated & Braided-Screen Mining Control Cable
450/750 V coal-mine control cable with annealed copper conductors to GB/T 3956, 90 C XLPE insulation and a flame-retardant PVC sheath designed to MT/T 386 (KA/T 386): MKYJV unscreened and MKYJVP with a collective copper wire braid screen. Discrete range from 0.75 mm2 to 10 mm2 in 2 to 37 cores.
Coal-mine switchgear, conveyor controls, pump automation and substation protection panels need multi-core control cable that stays stable at higher conductor temperatures and resists fire spread along cable trays. MKYJV and MKYJVP are 450/750 V mining control cables with annealed copper conductors to GB/T 3956, 90 °C cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) insulation and a flame-retardant PVC sheath designed to the MT/T 386 (KA/T 386) flame test.
MKYJV is the unscreened version for general control, signalling and interlock circuits. MKYJVP adds a collective braided screen of tinned or bare copper wires over the laid-up cores, giving immunity to interference from frequency converters, contactors and power cables sharing the same tray. The production matrix is discrete: 0.75, 1.0, 1.5 and 2.5 mm2 in 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 19, 24, 27, 30 and 37 cores; 4 and 6 mm2 in 2 to 19 cores; and 10 mm2 in 2 to 10 cores, always within the same core-count steps.
Compared with PVC-insulated MKVV and MKVVP, the XLPE insulation adds a 90 °C rating instead of 70 °C, lower dielectric losses and capacitance, and better resistance to heat ageing near hot equipment. Armoured or flexible versions are separate enquiry options and are not implied by the MKYJV designation.

MKYJV and MKYJVP 450/750 V XLPE Control Cable Construction & Screen
The representative horizontal sample shows an MKYJVP 450/750 V 10x1.5 mm2 control cable: ten annealed copper conductors with XLPE insulation and core numbering, a binder tape, a collective braid of tinned copper wires and a black flame-retardant PVC outer sheath.

| Component | Material and construction |
|---|---|
| Copper Conductors | Annealed copper Class 1 or Class 2 conductors to GB/T 3956 (IEC 60228), 0.75 mm2 to 10 mm2. |
| XLPE Insulation (90 C) | Cross-linked polyethylene insulation with numbered or colour-coded cores; lower permittivity than PVC for reduced capacitance. |
| Core Lay-Up and Binder | Cores laid up in concentric layers with fillers where needed and wrapped with a binder tape. |
| Collective Braid Screen (MKYJVP only) | Braid of tinned or bare annealed copper wires over the laid-up cores for interference immunity; MKYJV has no screen. |
| Flame-Retardant PVC Sheath | Flame-retardant PVC outer sheath designed to the MT/T 386 (KA/T 386) flame test. |
MKYJV and MKYJVP Type Designation Breakdown

MKYJV and MKYJVP Coal-Mine Control Applications
Choose MKYJV for general control wiring and MKYJVP wherever converters or power cables share the route.

- Control and interlock wiring for underground switchgear, starters and mine substation protection panels.
- Conveyor, pump and fan automation circuits near frequency converters where the braided screen of MKYJVP limits interference.
- Fixed control runs near hot equipment where the 90 C XLPE rating gives more margin than 70 C PVC-insulated control cable.
- Surface preparation plants and coal-handling buildings at Chinese-standard mines specifying MKYJV or MKYJVP by designation.

MKYJV and MKYJVP Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between MKYJV and MKYJVP?
Both have 90 C XLPE insulation and a flame-retardant PVC sheath. MKYJVP adds a collective braid of tinned or bare copper wires over the laid-up cores to protect control signals from electrical interference.
Which core counts are available?
For 0.75, 1.0, 1.5 and 2.5 mm2: 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 19, 24, 27, 30 and 37 cores. For 4 and 6 mm2: 2 to 19 cores in the same steps. For 10 mm2: 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8 and 10 cores.
Why choose XLPE control cable instead of MKVV?
XLPE allows 90 C conductor temperature instead of 70 C, has lower dielectric losses and capacitance, and resists heat ageing better near hot equipment.
What are the MOQ and lead time?
The minimum order quantity is 50 m and the manufacturing lead time is 7 to 45 working days, depending on construction and quantity.
