MSHA Tight-Buffer Breakout and Electro-Optic Mining Fiber Cable
Ruggedized underground mining tactical tight-buffer breakout fiber-optic cable (2 to 72 fibres) and hybrid electro-optic longwall communication-power cable engineered to ICEA S-104-696, TIA-568 and MSHA flame-resistance criteria. Each 900 um tight-buffered OS2, OM3 or OM4 fibre is reinforced with individual aramid strength yarns inside a 2.0 mm sub-unit for direct connector termination without fan-out kits, enclosed in a double-jacketed MSHA CPE/PU sheath. MOQ 50 m; lead time 7 to 45 working days.
While gel-filled loose-tube fiber cables serve static shaft and main drift backbones, dynamic longwall coal faces, portable mine load centres, leaky-feeder/Wi-Fi 6 base stations and mobile autonomous drill rigs require fiber-optic cables that tolerate repeated bending, reeling and direct field termination without messy gel cleaning or fragile breakout kits. MSHA Tight-Buffer Breakout and Electro-Optic Longwall Signal Mining Fiber Cable is engineered specifically for these high-flex underground and surface mining links.
In the Tight-Buffer Breakout series (2 to 72 fibres per ICEA S-104-696), each optical fibre (bend-insensitive ITU-T G.657.A2 / OS2 single-mode or OM3/OM4 laser-optimized multimode) is coated with a 900 um elastomeric tight buffer surrounded by its own high-modulus aramid yarn layer and an individual 2.0 mm colour-coded flame-retardant sub-unit jacket. Technicians can strip the outer MSHA double jacket and crimp LC, SC, ST or ruggedized expanded-beam connectors directly onto the 2.0 mm sub-units.
In the Hybrid Electro-Optic Longwall Signal series, 600 V / 1000 V Class K tinned copper power and pilot conductors (14 AWG to 6 AWG) are co-cabled with tight-buffer optical sub-units under a common reinforced MSHA CPE or polyurethane (PU) sheath to power and network face cameras, methane monitors, PLC nodes and roof-support controllers over a single cable. TEBAOFLEX supplies custom lengths from a 50 m MOQ with a 7 to 45 working day lead time.

Construction
The representative horizontal sample illustrates the 12-Fibre MSHA Tight-Buffer Breakout & Electro-Optic Mining Cable architecture, showing individual 2.0 mm colour-coded aramid-reinforced 900 um tight-buffer optical sub-units (alongside optional Class K tinned copper power/pilot cores in the hybrid series) laid around a central GRP dielectric strength member, protected by an inner elastomeric cushion jacket, aramid/braid reinforcement and a heavy outer MSHA flame-retardant CPE/PU sheath.
