They are construction families used for different vessel and offshore duties and should not be treated as interchangeable labels. Compare voltage, circuit function, fire strategy, armour, mud or oil exposure, installation zone and the exact project standard.

What is the difference between flame retardance and circuit integrity?

Flame retardance limits flame propagation under a stated test. Circuit integrity addresses continued operation for a specified circuit and test condition. Emergency routes must be defined by the project fire strategy.

When is armoured marine cable considered?

Armour may be selected where the installation needs mechanical protection or a specified construction system. Glands, bonding, corrosion exposure, bend limits and route geometry should be reviewed with the armour choice.
