TCu/MGT/EPR/ZH/GSWB/ZH SW4 Cable for Fixed Shipboard and Offshore Wiring
The TCu/MGT/EPR/ZH/GSWB/ZH SW4 cable is an armoured 0.6/1 kV power and control cable for fixed routes on ships and mobile or fixed offshore units. Its design combines a fire-resistant insulation system with halogen-free elastomer materials and galvanized steel wire braid protection. This makes the model relevant where a project cable schedule calls for the exact SW4 construction rather than a general-purpose industrial cable.
Use the Construction, Applications, Specifications and Standards tabs to check the supplied layer sequence, fixed-installation boundary, size range, current data and test references.
The supplied current ratings use a 45°C ambient-air reference. Do not select the conductor from current alone. Check route grouping, enclosure or tray conditions, permitted voltage drop, starting current, protective-device coordination and the temperature de-rating table. Use the nominal diameter and weight values to confirm tray loading, transit seals, cleats and glands.
The galvanized steel wire braid provides mechanical protection around the bedding, but the source identifies this model for fixed wiring. A mobile offshore unit does not automatically make the cable suitable for movement. If the route bends repeatedly, runs over rollers or enters a reel, provide the movement cycle, bend diameter and speed so a moving-duty cable can be reviewed.
Construction
The supplied TCu/MGT/EPR/ZH/GSWB/ZH construction uses tinned copper conductors, a fire-resistant insulation system, halogen-free bedding, galvanized steel wire braid armour and a black SW4 elastomer outer sheath.

| Layer | Supplied construction | Selection note |
|---|---|---|
| Conductor | 1.5 mm²: Class 5 flexible tinned copper; 2.5 mm² and above: Class 2 stranded tinned copper | Confirm conductor class with the termination method. |
| Separator | Mica glass tape | Part of the supplied fire-resistant layer system. |
| Insulation | Halogen-free EPR, Type GP4 | White cores with black printed numbers. |
| Bedding | Halogen-free EPR elastomer, Type SB1 | Protects the laid-up core assembly beneath the braid. |
| Armour | Galvanized steel wire braid (GSWB) | Mechanical protection for fixed routes; not evidence of reeling suitability. |
| Outer sheath | Black halogen-free, heat-resistant, oil-resisting and flame-retardant elastomer, Type SW4 | Confirm project-specific environmental and certificate requirements. |
Applications
This 0.6/1 kV SW4 marine cable is specified for fixed wiring in ships and on mobile or fixed offshore units. The GSWB-armoured construction suits protected fixed routes where the project cable schedule calls for this exact model and supplied test references.

- Fixed power distribution wiring on ships
- Fixed lighting and control circuits in shipboard installations
- Fixed cable-tray and protected routes on offshore platforms
- Mobile offshore units where the installed cable itself remains in a fixed route
- Projects requiring the supplied TCu/MGT/EPR/ZH/GSWB/ZH SW4 layer sequence
Use boundary: Do not specify this fixed-wiring construction for continuous reeling, trailing, festoon, repeated-flex or submerged duty without a separate engineering review.

Standards
The following construction and test references are supplied for this cable. They describe the stated product design and test basis; they do not, by themselves, establish a TEBAOFLEX third-party certificate or class approval.
| Reference | Supplied scope | Procurement note |
|---|---|---|
| BS 7917 | Supplied construction reference for this shipboard/offshore cable | Confirm the required edition and project schedule at RFQ stage. |
| IEC/EN 60331-21 | Fire-resistance test reference for cables rated up to and including 0.6/1 kV | Request the applicable test documentation if required. |
| IEC/EN 60332-3-22 | Vertical flame-spread test reference for bunched cables | Confirm the required category and evidence. |
| IEC/EN 60332-1-2 | Single-cable vertical flame-propagation test reference | Confirm project acceptance criteria. |
| IEC/EN 60754-1/2 | Halogen-acid gas and acidity/conductivity test references | Do not infer low-smoke performance unless the project also specifies and verifies it. |
Approval boundary: TEBAOFLEX certification files were reviewed. The supplied CE/EMC/LVD, UL/cUL, KC/KTL and VDE documents do not explicitly cover this exact SW4 model, or the necessary model annex was not supplied. Do not treat them as product approvals for this cable. Company ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management-system certificates are available within their stated scopes, but they do not certify this product to BS 7917. Include any required classification-society approval, declaration, RoHS/REACH evidence or exact-model certificate in the RFQ for confirmation before order.
