MCP & MCPTJ Coal Cutter and Shearer Screened Flexible Cable (0.66/1.14–1.9/3.3 kV)
Heavy-duty screened flexible coal cutter and longwall shearer cables (MCP 0.66/1.14 kV, MCPTJ 0.66/1.14 kV, MCP 1.9/3.3 kV and MCPTJ 1.9/3.3 kV) designed and manufactured to MT/T 818.2, MT/T 818.3 and MT/T 818.4 (GB/T 12972 series). Combines three screened Class 5 power cores, an interstitial earth conductor and a jacketed multi-core control/monitoring unit for continuous flexing inside armoured face conveyor cable handler chains.
MCP and MCPTJ coal cutter and shearer cables provide combined traction/cutter power, earth-fault protection and multi-core pilot control for longwall drum shearers moving back and forth along armoured face conveyors (AFC). Built to MT/T 818.2-2009, MT/T 818.3-2009 and MT/T 818.4-2009 (GB/T 12972.2–12972.4), the cable integrates three screened power cores (16 mm² to 150 mm²), one interstitial grounding conductor and a dedicated multi-core control sub-assembly (typically 4 × 4 mm² or 4 × 6 mm²) within a torsion-balanced round profile.
Type MCP uses extruded semiconductive elastomer screens over each +90 °C EPR-insulated power core for 0.66/1.14 kV and 1.9/3.3 kV shearer systems, whereas Type MCPTJ incorporates a tinned-copper wire and synthetic-yarn composite metallic phase screen plus pilot monitoring cores (J) for enhanced ground-fault sensitivity and interlock protection on high-output longwall faces.
To survive thousands of reverse-bending cycles inside Bretby-type shearer cable handler chains, the cabled core assembly is cushioned by a semiconductive elastomeric center cradle, bound with anti-torsion reinforcing braid and protected by a high-tear-strength flame-retardant polychloroprene (PCP) outer jacket.
State the required model (MCP or MCPTJ), rated voltage (0.66/1.14 kV or 1.9/3.3 kV), power and control core cross-sections, and shearer cable handler chain inner dimensions when requesting a quote. TEBAOFLEX supplies custom shearer cable lengths from a 50 m minimum order quantity with a standard lead time of 7–45 working days.

Construction
The representative construction illustrates MCPTJ 1.9/3.3 kV 3×95 + 1×35 + 4×6 mm²: three equal Class 5 flexible tinned-copper power cores with +90 °C EPR insulation and composite metallic screens, one uninsulated flexible tinned-copper earth core in the lower interstitial valley, and one round jacketed four-core control sub-assembly (4 × 6 mm²) in the upper interstitial valley, cabled around a central profile cradle and enclosed in a braid-reinforced black flame-retardant rubber outer jacket.
