MVV & MVV22 (0.6/1–1.8/3 kV) PVC Insulated & Steel-Tape Armoured Underground Mine Power Cable (MT/T 818.12)
PVC-insulated, PVC-sheathed fixed coal-mine power cable to MT/T 818.12-2009 (now KA/T 818.12-2009) at 0.6/1 kV and 1.8/3 kV: MVV unarmoured and MVV22 double steel-tape armoured, in 3-core, 3+1 and 4-core layouts from 1.5 mm2 up to 300 mm2, 70 C conductor rating and flame-retardant sheath to MT/T 386.
MVV and MVV22 are the PVC-insulated, PVC-sheathed fixed power cables of the Chinese coal-mine cable system, defined in MT/T 818.12-2009 (now KA/T 818.12-2009) for 0.6/1 kV and 1.8/3 kV distribution. They feed lighting transformers, switchgear, pumps, fans and roadway equipment where the cable is fixed on hangers or brackets rather than dragged. The flame-retardant PVC insulation and the black, blue or red mining PVC sheath are designed to the MT/T 386 (KA/T 386) flame test, with a maximum conductor temperature of 70 °C.
MVV is unarmoured; MVV22 adds double steel-tape armour for crush protection in roadways and inclined drifts. The verified production range covers three-core, 3+1 and four-core layouts. At 0.6/1 kV, three-core MVV runs from 3×1.5 and MVV22 from 3×2.5 to 3×300 mm2; at 1.8/3 kV both run from 3×10 to 3×300 mm2. The 3+1 layouts run from 3×4+1×2.5 mm2 at 0.6/1 kV, or 3×10+1×6 mm2 at 1.8/3 kV, up to 3×300+1×150 mm2, and four equal cores run from 4×4 to 4×185 mm2 at both voltages.
Neither MVV nor MVV22 can carry its own weight in a vertical run. For inclined or vertical shafts the family includes MVV32 with fine steel-wire armour and MVV42 with thick steel-wire armour; their core and size combinations are engineered per order and are never copied from the MVV22 tape-armoured range. Where a 90 °C XLPE rating is needed, use the MYJV family instead.

MVV and MVV22 PVC Mine Power Cable Construction & Armour
The representative horizontal sample shows an MVV22 0.6/1 kV 3x95+1x50 mm2 cable: three phase conductors and one reduced neutral conductor of annealed copper with flame-retardant PVC insulation, a PVC inner sheath, double galvanized steel tape armour and a black flame-retardant mining PVC outer sheath.

| Component | Material and construction |
|---|---|
| Copper Conductors | Annealed copper Class 1 or Class 2 conductors to GB/T 3956 (IEC 60228), round or sector-shaped by size. |
| Flame-Retardant PVC Insulation (70 C) | PVC compound insulation rated 70 C continuous with colour identification of phase and neutral cores. |
| Core Lay-Up and Fillers | Three, 3+1 or four cores laid up with non-hygroscopic fillers for a round assembly. |
| PVC Inner Sheath | Extruded PVC inner sheath under the armour on MVV22 (and under the wire armour on MVV32 / MVV42). |
| Armour (MVV22) | Two helically applied galvanized steel tapes for crush and impact protection; tape armour carries no tensile load. MVV is unarmoured. |
| Flame-Retardant Mining PVC Sheath | Black, blue or red flame-retardant PVC outer sheath designed to the MT/T 386 (KA/T 386) flame test. |

MVV and MVV22 0.6/1 to 1.8/3 kV Coal-Mine Applications & Route Scope
Use MVV and MVV22 for fixed, supported routes; move to the steel-wire armoured branch wherever the cable must carry pull or its own weight.

- Underground lighting transformers, switchgear, pumps and ventilation fans fed at 0.6/1 kV or 1.8/3 kV on fixed routes.
- Horizontal roadways and inclined drifts where cables on hangers or brackets need steel-tape crush protection (MVV22).
- Substations, workshops and surface plant buildings at Chinese-standard coal mines where PVC-insulated 70 C cable is specified.
- Inclined and vertical shaft routes using the steel-wire armoured MVV32 or MVV42 branch, engineered per order.

MVV and MVV22 Frequently Asked Questions
Can MVV22 be hung in a vertical shaft?
No. Steel tape armour carries no tensile load, so neither MVV nor MVV22 can support its own weight vertically. Use MVV42 with thick steel-wire armour for vertical shafts, or MVV32 for inclined shafts; both are engineered per order.
What sizes are available for MVV and MVV22?
Three-core 3x1.5 (MVV) or 3x2.5 (MVV22) to 3x300 mm2 at 0.6/1 kV and 3x10 to 3x300 mm2 at 1.8/3 kV; 3+1 core from 3x4+1x2.5 or 3x10+1x6 to 3x300+1x150 mm2; four-core 4x4 to 4x185 mm2 at both voltages.
Are MVV32 and MVV42 the same size as MVV22?
No. Their core and size combinations and dimensions are engineered per order around the wire armour and are never copied from the MVV22 steel-tape range.
What are the MOQ and lead time?
The minimum order quantity is 50 m and the manufacturing lead time is 7 to 45 working days, depending on construction and quantity.
