Product overview

Tracked seabed trenchers, cable-burial ploughs, subsea boring machines and heavy work-class ROVs operate under severe dynamic tension, continuous sheave bending and high electrical power demand. This family brings together extra-flexible 250 V coaxial ROV tethers (REF 32629 and REF 37256), 1.5–2.4 kV floating electro-optical ROV tethers (REF 50899 and REF 51332), 3 kV seabed trencher and plough electro-optical umbilicals (REF 37640 and REF 43330), and deepwater double/triple steel-armored M-PAC umbilicals (Type 2.1-TAU38 and Type 2.2-DAU17).

For tracked seabed trenching machines, REF 37640 integrates seventeen 25 mm² (3 kV) XLPE motor feeder cores, six 3×1.0 mm² (1 kV) control triplets, four 2×0.22 mm² (250 V) shielded pairs and 12 multimode 62.5/125 μm optical fibers inside a contra-helical double-layer aramid braid rated for a 60,000 daN (600 kN) theoretical breaking load at 76 mm outside diameter.

Where cable-burial ploughs or mine-clearance ROVs require a buoyant tether that stays clear of tracks and thrusters, REF 43330 (42 mm OD, 3,000 V, 8 SM fibers, 15,000 daN breaking load) uses oil-filled interstices (density 0.887) to achieve -30 g/m buoyancy in seawater, while REF 50899 (2,400 V, 2,300 daN) and REF 51332 (1,500 V, 1,000 daN) float with seawater densities of 0.98 and 0.92.

Specify the model reference, operating voltage (250 V to 3 kV), optical fiber type, required breaking strength and winch drum diameter in your enquiry. TEBAOFLEX manufactures ROV and seabed vehicle umbilicals from a 50 m minimum order quantity with a lead time of 7–45 working days.

All conductor cross-sections, linear resistances, voltage classes, optical attenuations, breaking loads and air/seawater weights are taken directly from the engineering specifications for REF 32629, REF 37256, REF 50899, REF 51332, REF 37640, REF 43330, REF 59986, REF 55753, Type 2.1-TAU38 and Type 2.2-DAU17.

On REF 43330 (42 mm OD 3 kV Plough Umbilical), the cable interstices are filled with low-density insulating fluid (density 0.887), yielding a net positive buoyancy of -30 g/m in seawater despite an aluminum tape armor barrier and 15,000 daN fiber braid.

Static vehicle harness cables REF 59986 (1,000 V 3×1.0 mm² shielded power, IEC 60332-1 flame-retardant) and REF 55753 (600/250 V power, shielded pairs and 75 Ω coax) are designed for fixed wiring on ROV frames, underwater projectors and manipulator arms.
