YHKGYFoyn 3.6/6 kV Individually Screened Steel-Wire-Armoured Underground Mine Power Cable
YHKGYFoyn is a 3.6/6 kV PVC-insulated, PVC-sheathed mine power cable for fixed installation, in which the H marks an individual screen of conductive tape and copper tape on each of the three compacted Class 2 copper cores, with a single layer of galvanized steel wire armour and a red flame-retardant PVC sheath tested to IEC 60332-3-24, from 3×25 to 3×240 mm².
Fixed 6 kV distribution in underground mines, from shaft-bottom substations to section transformers and pump chambers, needs armoured cable that stays in place for years and resists crushing and fire. YHKGYFoyn is a 3.6/6 kV PVC-insulated mine power cable for this duty. Its three circular compacted Class 2 copper conductors to BS EN 60228 are insulated with PVC compound type DIV14, and the H in the designation marks an individual screen of conductive non-metallic tape and copper tape over each core.
The screened cores are laid up with a central copper wire or filler, filled with rubber compound and covered with a PVC inner sheath type DMV6. A single layer of galvanized steel wires with a steel tape gives mechanical protection, and a red flame-retardant PVC sheath type DMV31 meets the bunched-cable flame test of IEC 60332-3-24. The reference schedule lists 18 designations from 3x25RMC/16 to 3x240RMC/30 mm² with outer diameters of 46.5 mm to 80.6 mm, net weights of 4632 to 16867 kg/km and maximum conductor resistances of 0.727 to 0.0754 Ω/km at 20 °C.
Individual core screens give each phase its own earthed screen, which confines the electric field at 6 kV and lets earth-fault protection act on a single core. Collective-screen YKGYFoyn and the other Polish and Czech fixed constructions are covered on our fixed mining power cable page.

YHKGYFoyn 3.6/6 kV Frequently Asked Questions
What does the H in YHKGYFoyn mean?
It marks an individual screen: each core has its own conductive non-metallic tape and copper tape, instead of one collective screen over all three cores.
What does 3x95RMC/16 mean?
Three round multi-wire compacted 95 mm² copper conductors; the figure after the slash is part of the reference designation, and the screen or earth arrangement it refers to is confirmed on the quotation drawing.
Can YHKGYFoyn hang in a vertical shaft?
It is designed for fixed installation. Vertical shaft suspension depends on armour sizing and the support method, which are confirmed on the order drawing; the maximum pulling stress with a cable grip is 50 N/mm² of copper.
What are the MOQ and lead time?
The minimum order quantity is 50 m and the manufacturing lead time is 7 to 45 working days, depending on size and quantity.
