TEBAOFLEX manufactures BS5308 and PAS5308 instrumentation cable for 300/500 V analogue and digital signal circuits. Specify pairs or triads, then choose Part 1 polyethylene or Part 2 PVC insulation, Type 1 unarmoured or Type 2 steel wire armoured construction, and CAM collective or ICAM individual plus collective screening. These three choices are independent. The withdrawn BS 5308 and PAS 5308 names still appear in cable schedules, replacement enquiries and petrochemical projects, while BS EN 50288-7 is the current sectional specification. Confirm the required document, conductor size, screen arrangement, route, environmental protection and intrinsic-safety loop data before ordering.

Standard status: BSI records PAS 5308-1:2009 as withdrawn on 3 April 2024. BSI lists BS EN 50288-7:2005 as current and under review. A withdrawn designation may remain on a project schedule, but the governing document and any deviation should be agreed before manufacture.
