NSGAFCMOEU Screened Heating Circuit Cable
NSGAFCMOEU is a 3.6/6 kV screened single-core cable to DIN VDE 0250 Parts 602 and 606, designed for higher mechanical stressing, typically as the connection element for heating circuits in trucks, buses and track-bound vehicles. The screen, denoted by the CMOE letters, is a helix of tinned copper wires laid over the insulation; it is what separates this cable from the unscreened NSGAFÖU base build.
The page also covers NSHXAFCMOE, the halogen-free equivalent. The two share the screened construction and differ in sheath compound, and that difference changes the bending radius: 4 × D for the chlorinated-rubber NSGAFCMOEU against 6 × D for the halogen-free NSHXAFCMOE. Both are supplied in 185 mm², which is the maximum cross-section that DIN VDE 0250 Part 602 sets for this voltage class.
- Rated voltage: 3.6/6 kV.
- Screen: helix of tinned copper wires (CMOE).
- Cross-section: 185 mm², the Part 602 ceiling for this class.
- Bending radius: 4 × D screened chlorinated rubber; 6 × D screened halogen-free.
For the unscreened base builds use NSGAFÖU and NSHXAFÖ, which cover 1.5 mm² to 300 mm² and are a different specification entirely.
NSGAFCMOEU Cable Construction
Four-layer screened single-core construction. The inner semi-conducting layer is present on the 6 kV build, and the CMOE screen sits between the insulation and the sheath.

| 1 | Conductor | Flexible tinned copper conductor, class 5 |
| 2 | Semi-conducting layer | Inner semi-conducting layer, present on the 6 kV type |
| 3 | Insulation | Rubber compound type 3GI3, EPR based |
| 4 | Screen (CMOE) | Helix of tinned copper wires |
| 5 | Sheath | 5GM3 chlorinated rubber, or HM3 halogen-free polymer compound |

NSGAFCMOEU Applications
The screened CMOE builds are designed for higher mechanical stressing, for instance as the connection element for heating circuits in trucks, buses and track-bound vehicles. The unscreened builds of the same family are used for fixed installation in vehicles, in conduits and closed installation systems, and in low-voltage switchboards; those applications stay on their own pages.

- Heating circuit connections in trucks, buses and track-bound vehicles.
- Routes with higher mechanical stressing than the unscreened build is rated for.
- Installations requiring a metallic screen over a single-core medium-voltage connection.
- Halogen-free variants where low smoke emission is specified, using NSHXAFCMOE.
Application boundaries
The screened builds are supplied in 185 mm² only. Do not read the 1.5 mm² to 300 mm² range of the unscreened NSGAFÖU and NSHXAFÖ tables across to this page; those are different cables with a different construction and different current ratings. State the screen termination and earthing method, the heating circuit rating and the vehicle interface with the enquiry.

NSGAFCMOEU and NSHXAFCMOE 3.6/6 kV size table
| Code and cross-section | Outer diameter approx. | Weight approx. | Sustained current loading | Nominal fire load, halogen-free build |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| NSGAFCMOEU / NSHXAFCMOE 3.6/6 kV 185 mm² | 38.5 mm | 3060 kg/km | 622 A | 4.58 kWh/m |
185 mm² is the maximum cross-section that DIN VDE 0250 Part 602 specifies for this voltage class, so the single-row table is the complete screened range rather than an extract. Sustained current loading is stated at 30 °C ambient, free in air, as in DIN VDE 0298 Part 4 Table 11, and must be corrected for the installed condition. The nominal fire load figure applies to the halogen-free NSHXAFCMOE build.
