Flat Type G 2C cable for DC mining equipment
Flat Type G 2C cable is a 2 kV trailing cable with two power cores and one shaped grounding conductor. Its flat assembly combines flexible tinned-copper conductors, EPR insulation, synthetic-yarn reinforcement and a black CPE jacket.
This arrangement serves two-conductor DC circuits on off-track mining equipment, including shuttle cars, drills, cutters and loading machines. The grounding conductor lies between the two insulated power cores. The separate power and protective-ground functions are visible in the construction diagram and in the size-specific conductor schedule.
- Circuit selection: match the two power conductors and grounding-conductor size to the equipment drawing.
- Size selection: compare six AWG options together, from 6 AWG to 2/0 AWG.
- Route clearance: use both cable height and width when checking guides, equipment entries and termination space.
- Thermal selection: the ampacity table states continuous-duty values at 90 °C conductor temperature and 40 °C ambient.
This Type G construction has one grounding conductor and no separate ground-check core. Browse the mining cable range for other conductor arrangements, or read the grounding and ground-check cable comparison when selecting the protection-circuit configuration.
Two power conductors and one shaped ground
The flat assembly places one flexible grounding conductor between two EPR-insulated power cores. Synthetic yarn reinforces the assembly beneath the CPE outer jacket.

| Element | Construction |
|---|---|
| Power conductors | Two flexible tinned-copper conductors |
| Insulation | EPR |
| Power-core identification | Black and white |
| Grounding conductor | One shaped flexible tinned-copper conductor between the power cores |
| Reinforcement | Synthetic textile yarn |
| Outer jacket | Black heavy-duty CPE |
| Ground-check core | None |
DC mining-equipment trailing connections
Flat Type G 2C serves two-conductor DC power circuits on off-track mining machinery.

- Shuttle cars: flat trailing leads with a separate protective-ground conductor.
- Drilling and cutting equipment: two-power-conductor DC connections matched to the machine circuit.
- Loading equipment: flexible cable connections between the supply and mobile machine.
Grounding and monitoring
This construction contains one grounding conductor and no separate ground-check core. For a monitored circuit, compare the Type G-GC cable with ground-check conductor.
Flat-cable routing
Use the finished height and width to check guide clearance and cable orientation. Maintain the intended bending plane and avoid twisting the flat assembly. Current-rating selection uses the installation method and the thermal conditions stated in Specifications.
