K-PNCT / K-PNCT-SB Flexible Instrumentation Cable
Four-core flexible instrumentation cable for low-power circuits up to 60 V. EPR insulation and a chloroprene rubber sheath are available as unscreened K-PNCT or overall-braid-screened K-PNCT-SB.
K-PNCT cable connects instruments and measurement equipment in low-power circuits up to 60 V. The construction uses flexible stranded conductors, EPR insulation and a chloroprene rubber sheath, with an 80°C temperature rating. K-PNCT is the unscreened version; K-PNCT-SB adds an overall braided screen around the four insulated cores.
The family is intended for semi-fixed instrument connections where cable flexibility helps installation and equipment handling. Civil engineering measurement systems are a typical application. Choose the screened version when the instrument circuit calls for an overall screen, then coordinate its termination with the equipment grounding arrangement. The screen surrounds the complete core group rather than individual cores or pairs.
Both versions are listed in 4 × 0.3 mm² and 4 × 0.5 mm² sizes. The larger conductor size reduces the maximum conductor resistance, while the screened construction changes the finished diameter and cable mass. Use the separate model tables to choose the cable entry, sealing gland and connection space for the required version.
For a quotation, provide the exact K-PNCT or K-PNCT-SB designation, conductor size, cable length and instrument circuit details. Include the installation layout and handling conditions so the selected construction suits the route. Where the project requires fixed instrumentation wiring or a higher-voltage flexible signal circuit, compare the related cable families by installation method and circuit requirements.

When specifying K-PNCT or braided-shield K-PNCT-SB flexible rubber instrumentation cable alongside power or video crane circuits, compare these JIS constructions: 600V 2PNCT Flexible Rubber Cable (JIS C 3327) (600 V JIS C 3327 EPDM/chloroprene flexible rubber power cable for crane motors and heavy portable tools); ENCT 75 Ohm Flexible Coaxial Cable for Festoon Systems (75 Ohm chloroprene-sheathed flexible coaxial cable for crane spreader cameras and festoon video links). Separate low-voltage instrumentation pairs from unshielded power conductors or specify K-PNCT-SB copper braid screening.
Construction
The illustration shows K-PNCT-SB 4 × 0.5 mm²: four insulated signal cores arranged as a compact two-by-two group, surrounded by filler, tapes, an overall braid and a rubber sheath.

| Component | Material and construction |
|---|---|
| Conductors | Flexible stranded conductors: 12 × 0.18 mm for 0.3 mm² or 20 × 0.18 mm for 0.5 mm². |
| Separator and insulation | A separator over each conductor, followed by 0.5 mm EPR insulation. |
| Core identification | Four cores identified by black, white, red and green colours or tracers. |
| K-PNCT assembly | Four insulated cores within a chloroprene rubber sheath; unscreened construction. |
| K-PNCT-SB assembly | Four cores assembled with filler and an inner tape, followed by a 0.3 mm overall shield braid and an outer tape. |
| Outer sheath | Chloroprene rubber; wall thickness and finished diameter depend on the model and conductor size. |
Applications
K-PNCT and K-PNCT-SB serve semi-fixed, low-power instrument circuits where flexible rubber cable construction is required.

- Civil engineering measurement equipment and associated sensor connections.
- Low-power instrument circuits up to 60 V.
- Semi-fixed connections between measuring equipment, connection boxes and data-acquisition equipment.
- K-PNCT-SB for circuits requiring an overall braided screen; terminate the screen according to the instrument system design.
- Use supported routes and strain relief at cable entries, with sufficient space for handling and smooth bends.
