Single-Conductor Type W 2000 V Mining Power Cable
Single-conductor Type W 2000 V cable with stranded bare copper, EPDM insulation and polyester reinforcement for portable power. Reference sizes: 8 AWG–500 kcmil. MOQ: 50 m; lead time: 7–45 working days.
TEBAOFLEX single-conductor Type W 2000 V cable provides an individual power lead for portable electrical systems around mines, processing plants and temporary work areas. Its single-core format lets the circuit designer select each power conductor separately and match the lead to the connection arrangement. This page covers the 2 kV Type W construction in sizes from 8 AWG to 500 kcmil, with dimensions for comparing cable entries, connectors and handling space.
A stranded bare copper conductor carries the current beneath EPDM insulation. An open polyester braid sits between the insulation and the black outer jacket, adding mechanical reinforcement without a metallic screen or armour. The construction supports portable power use, while the required conductor size still depends on load, circuit length, installation conditions and the temperature rating of the connected equipment. The listed conductor limits are 90°C in dry service and 75°C in wet service.
Specify the protective earth arrangement separately: this cable contains one insulated power conductor and no integrated ground-check core. Compare multiconductor Type W configurations when several power cores must share a jacket, or Type G-GC cable with grounding and ground-check conductors for circuits requiring that integrated arrangement. For cable reels or routes with repeated movement, include the reel geometry and duty cycle with the enquiry so the application can be assessed. TEBAOFLEX supplies quoted lengths from a 50 m minimum order, with a lead time of 7–45 working days. Send the conductor size, required length and termination details to receive a construction-specific quotation.

Construction
A reinforced single-core construction combines stranded copper, EPDM insulation and a black outer jacket. The polyester braid is a non-metallic reinforcing layer. The main image is a representative construction illustration.
| Component | Material and construction |
|---|---|
| Conductor | One fully annealed, stranded bare copper conductor; 8 AWG–500 kcmil reference sizes. |
| Insulation | EPDM insulation; nominal thickness varies with conductor size as listed below. |
| Reinforcement | Open polyester braid between the insulation and outer jacket. |
| Outer jacket | Black heavy-duty jacket. |
| Circuit arrangement | Single insulated power conductor; protective earth and ground-check circuits are specified separately. |
Applications
For portable power connections where a separate single-core lead is appropriate to the equipment and circuit design.
- Portable power distribution for mine maintenance and temporary work areas.
- Individual power leads between portable equipment and its supply connection.
- Temporary power connections in mineral processing and industrial plant areas.
- Outdoor portable power routes with terminations selected for the exposure conditions.

Dimensions and weights are reference values for the listed construction. The quotation and agreed production drawing define the supplied cable.
Choose connector and gland dimensions from the finished cable diameter and the conductor size; these are separate measurements.
Determine permissible current from the complete circuit, installation arrangement, ambient conditions and terminal temperature limits.
Single-core cables require a separately designed protective earth arrangement. Include any ground-monitoring requirement in the enquiry.
For repeated movement or reel use, provide the bend radius, reel dimensions, travel and operating duty before selecting the cable.
Specify order length, conductor size, termination arrangement and delivery destination when requesting a quotation.
