Product overview

2 kV DLO Cable Manufacturer | 12 AWG–1111 kcmil

TEBAOFLEX manufactures 2 kV DLO cable from 12 AWG to 1111 kcmil for locomotive, mining, motor, generator, battery, UPS and industrial power applications.

Choose the conductor size from the actual load, installation method, ambient temperature, grouping, terminal rating and governing electrical rules. Fine-stranded DLO conductors also require compatible lugs or ferrules and the correct crimp tooling. DLO is not automatically interchangeable with welding cable, and it is not a continuous-reeling cable simply because it is flexible.

  • Suitable for: flexible 2 kV single-conductor power links.
  • Specify by: AWG/kcmil size, route, current basis, temperature and required marking.
  • Confirm: termination system, wet/dry duty, tray or conduit requirements and documentation.
  • Choose another cable when: the circuit needs multiple cores, shielding, armour or continuous drum reeling.

Browse the industrial cable range and use the dedicated DLO cable ampacity chart for installation-specific sizing guidance.

DLO Cable Supply Range

DLO cable price depends on conductor size, copper content, ordered length, certification/marking requirements, packing and destination. For a current quotation, send the required AWG/kcmil size, total length, quantity and destination country.

Construction

DLO Cable Construction

The DLO cable build combines a fine-stranded power conductor with separate thermoset insulation and jacket layers. This differs from a single-layer welding lead and gives the buyer a defined 2 kV power-cable construction with size-dependent building-wiring and tray-use markings.
LayerVerified constructionBuyer value
ConductorFlexible rope-lay Class I tinned annealed copper, manufactured using bunch-stranded componentsSupports routing through compact locomotive, equipment and power-distribution layouts; tin coating assists corrosion control at the conductor surface.
Separator / binderNon-hygroscopic separator tape over the conductorHelps prevent the thermoset insulation from penetrating the fine strands and supports clean preparation for termination.
InsulationBlack thermoset ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPR)Provides the primary 2 kV dielectric layer and supports 90°C operation in wet or dry locations.
Outer jacketThermoset chlorinated polyethylene (XL-CPE), black as standard; other colours by orderProvides resistance to oil, sunlight, abrasion, heat, flame exposure and routine industrial handling.
IdentificationSurface, indent or sequential marking options showing the ordered model, size, voltage and applicable approval marksAllows receiving inspectors and installers to verify that the delivered cable matches the approved submittal.

Termination of the Fine-Stranded Conductor

Use compression lugs, ferrules or connectors specifically qualified for fine-stranded Class I/DLO conductors. A lug intended only for conventional building-wire stranding may not capture every strand or maintain the intended contact pressure. Strip the insulation without nicking or splaying the conductor, follow the connector manufacturer's die and crimp sequence, and verify the completed termination against the project procedure.
Applications

DLO Cable Applications

DLO cable applications for locomotive, mining and industrial powerDLO cable is selected where a single flexible power conductor must carry substantial current through compact equipment, exposed industrial routes or connections that need easier handling than conventional rigidly stranded power cable.
  • Diesel-electric locomotives, railway vehicles and transit-car power wiring.
  • Mining, drilling, earth-moving and other electrically driven industrial equipment.
  • Flexible motor leads, generator leads, transformer connections and switchgear links.
  • UPS systems, battery banks, energy-storage equipment and standby-power connections.
  • Wind-turbine generator power leads and industrial plant power connections.
  • Wet or dry conduit, duct and trough routes when the ordered marking and local electrical rules permit.
  • Cable-tray installations for 1/0 AWG and larger when the delivered cable carries the required CT-use and flame-test marking.

Selection Boundaries

DLO describes a flexible single-conductor cable family; it does not by itself approve every installation. Confirm the local electrical code, authority having jurisdiction, conductor ampacity, terminal temperature rating, grouping and ambient-temperature derating, and the exact sheath marking before installation. Use a purpose-designed reeling cable for continuous drum duty and a multi-core, screened or armoured cable where the circuit or mechanical risk requires those features.

DLO Cable Is Not Automatically Interchangeable with Welding Cable

Welding cable is normally intended for welder secondary circuits. Substitution in either direction must be based on the voltage rating, insulation system, approved use, flame performance, environmental exposure and termination method—not conductor flexibility alone.
