Type 241.1 Mining Cable and Type 241 Voltage Family
Type 241.1 cable is the 1.1/1.1 kV member of the AS/NZS 1802 Type 241 reeling and trailing cable family for underground coal-mine feeder and equipment circuits. This page also retains Type 241.3, 241.6 and 241.11 data so buyers can select the correct voltage grade without creating overlapping product pages.
The construction combines three screened flexible power cores, three interstitial earth conductors and a central pilot, assembled with semiconductive layers, braid reinforcement and a heavy-duty elastomeric sheath. Select the model by system voltage first, then check phase area, earth and pilot arrangement, termination design, route length and movement duty. Type 241.1 is not automatically suitable for every shuttle-car or high-speed reeling application.

Construction
The Type 241 arrangement combines three semiconductive-screened power cores with three interstitial earth conductors and one central pilot. The layer sequence below reflects the supplied construction data; final materials and dimensions must be confirmed on the quotation and approved cable schedule.

Applications
Type 241 is a general-use underground coal-mine power cable family. It is a suitable starting point when a feeder or equipment-supply circuit requires semiconductive-screened power cores, three earth conductors and a central pilot, subject to the selected voltage grade and mechanical duty.

Use boundaries to confirm
- Shuttle cars: Do not select Type 241 solely from the voltage; high-speed shuttle-car reeling requires a cable type and mechanical design verified for that duty.
- Repeated flexing or cable chains: Provide bend radius, drum or sheave diameter, travel speed, pulling load and cycle information.
- Wet, oily, abrasive or chemically exposed routes: State the actual exposure so the sheath compound and test requirements can be confirmed.
- Hazardous mine areas: A product description does not establish site approval; provide the required standard edition, certificate and inspection scope.
