Product overview

(N)SSHCOEU Cable for 0.6/1 kV VFD Mining Drives

(N)SSHCOEU is a 0.6/1 kV screened rubber cable for frequency-converter output to motors in opencast mines and other heavy industrial routes. The documented construction uses Class 5 tinned-copper conductors, 3GI3 EPR insulation, individually screened power cores, a GM1b inner sheath, a combined copper/textile braid and a 5GM5 outer sheath. Its selection job is EMC-aware drive power, not mine lighting or high-tensile reeling.

  • Use when: a converter-to-motor circuit requires the confirmed screened flexible construction.
  • Confirm first: drive output, cable length, switching frequency, grounding, termination, bend duty and environmental exposure.
  • Choose another family when: the circuit is monitored lighting, a guided reel or a general heavy-duty rubber supply.

Use the mining and tunneling cable hub and the mining cable selection guide to compare those duties before RFQ.

Frequently asked questions

Can (N)SSHCOEU be used as a normal motor cable?

Only after the electrical, EMC, movement and environmental requirements match the offered construction.

What drive data is needed for quotation?

Provide the drive and motor, voltage, current, cable length, switching data, grounding, route, size and documents.

Designation note: (N)SSHCÖU source data may cite a different VDE part or test voltage. Treat the spelling as a cross-reference for enquiry capture, not proof that two marked cables are interchangeable.

Applications

Applications and Selection Boundaries

  • Frequency-converter motor drives on mining and tunnelling equipment.
  • Material-handling equipment, cable booms and controlled moving connections.
  • Heavy industrial motor routes requiring a flexible rubber cable and EMC braid.
  • Indoor, outdoor or wet operating routes when the final compound and installation are approved.

Choose by the circuit, not the model name alone

Confirm inverter output, switching frequency, screen termination at both ends, protective-earth sizing and common-mode current management with the drive-system engineer. Do not use the cable for unrestricted drum reeling solely because it is described as flexible. For a monitored mine-lighting circuit, compare (N)SSHCGEWÖU lighting cable; for cutters and drills requiring the armoured -V construction, compare (N)SSHCGEWÖU-V.

RFQ data

Send the existing cable marking, motor and inverter ratings, conductor size, core arrangement, route length, bend and torsion conditions, water depth if applicable, drum length, sheath colour and required test or approval documents.

Related mobile-equipment duties

Use NSSHCGEOEU for the documented high-tensile guided reel and (N)SSHÖU for an applicable heavy-duty flexible supply. Neither is an automatic EMC-drive substitute.
