TEBAOFLEX Type SHD-CGC cable is a three-conductor, shielded portable mining power cable for equipment that needs both a grounding system and a central ground-check conductor. The supplied 5 kV data set covers a heavy-duty EPR/CPE construction for mobile equipment circuits where a basic flexible feeder cable does not provide the required conductor arrangement or insulation shielding.

The practical buying question is not only conductor size. Confirm how the cable will move with the machine, whether the ground-check circuit is required at the termination, and whether the selected grounding-conductor size is compatible with the equipment and local mine rules. A cable that has the correct ampacity but the wrong check-ground layout can cause a costly field change before the machine enters service.

Type SHD-CGC construction

The supplied Type SHD-CGC construction separates the three phase conductors from a central ground-check conductor and three grounding conductors. EPR insulation and a braided insulation shield are used inside a reinforced CPE outer jacket.

Type SHD-CGC heavy-duty cable is intended for longwall shearers, continuous miners, loaders, drills, conveyors, pumps and other mobile equipment where grounding conductors, a ground-check conductor and metallic shielding are required. It is relevant to portable AC mining circuits where the cable must follow the movement of the equipment instead of remaining as a fixed building feeder.

Type SHD-CGC selection checks

  • Confirm that the equipment termination accepts the central ground-check conductor and three grounding conductors.
  • Match the phase size and supplied ampacity to the electrical design; account for route length and any project derating before final selection.
  • Plan support, bend control, routing and strain relief around moving equipment. The supplied minimum bending radius is 6 × the finished cable outer diameter.
  • Specify jacket option, cable length, marking, inspection and test documentation in the RFQ when the standard black CPE construction is not the final project requirement.
