For an RFQ, send the rated voltage, core arrangement and size, length per drum, equipment, reel or immersion conditions and the test documents you need.
NTSCGECEWOU cable: what (N)TSCGECEWÖU is
NTSCGECEWOU is the keyboard spelling of NTSCGECEWÖU, the German-style designation of a flexible medium-voltage rubber cable for mobile equipment. TEBAOFLEX writes it (N)TSCGECEWÖU: the (N) marks a construction built with reference to DIN VDE 0250-813 rather than an approved VDE standard type, and it is not a VDE certification mark. Test reports and order documents also write NTSCGECEWOEU or (N)TSCGECEWOEU.
Not every letter of a medium-voltage mining designation is defined in the published VDE legend, so read the string as a family name and confirm the construction on the order data sheet. Letter-by-letter readings that take the leading N as “sheathed” do not follow the VDE legend, in which N marks a VDE standard type; that is why TEBAOFLEX writes (N). The defined positions are explained in our guide to reading VDE cable designations.
Two designations differ from NTSCGECEWOU by only one letter and belong to different TEBAOFLEX cables for tunnel boring machines:
Check every letter of the designation on the cable schedule before you order.
Screened reeling construction or submersible-duty construction
TEBAOFLEX builds (N)TSCGECEWÖU in two constructions. Both use Class 5 tinned copper conductors, 3GI3-type EPR insulation and a GM1b inner sheath; they differ in how the protective conductor and the metallic screen are arranged, and that decides where each one is used.
| Feature | Screened reeling construction | Submersible-duty construction |
|---|---|---|
| Protective conductor | Divided into three parts: the tinned copper wire screen around each power core (3×25/3 in the 12/20 kV order) | Separate EPR-insulated tinned copper earth cores |
| Metallic screen | Individual tinned copper wire screen on each core | Tinned copper wire braid over the inner sheath |
| Outer sheath | 5GM5-type rubber compound, red | 5GM3-type rubber compound, black |
| Typical duty | Motorised cable reels and trailing duty on mobile opencast mining machines | Submersible pumps, dredgers, pontoons and floating docks |
For a submersible installation, the immersion depth, the water type and whether the cable stays permanently immersed are confirmed for each order; state them in the enquiry.
A 12/20 kV 3×35+3×25/3 order of this cable family, built for the cable reel of a bucket-wheel excavator and tested at the factory in front of the buyer's QC inspector, is documented with its test readings on the bucket-wheel excavator reeling cable case page.

NTSCGECEWOU cable applications
Cable reels and trailing duty on mobile mining machines
The individually screened construction is built for cables that are wound on a motorised reel or trailed behind a moving machine, where the cable bends, twists and is pulled in service, as on opencast mining machines fed from the mine transformer. Each power core carries its own earthed wire screen, which keeps the electric field inside the core insulation and takes an insulation fault straight to earth.
For the motorised cable reel of a bucket-wheel excavator in Poland, TEBAOFLEX supplied this construction as 12/20 kV 3×35+3×25/3 on two drums of 500 m and 480 m; its measured values are in the specifications tab.
Submersible pumps, dredgers and floating docks
The construction with separate EPR-insulated earth cores, a tinned copper wire braid and a black 5GM3 outer sheath supplies submersible pumps in wells and drainage systems, and pumps and equipment on dredgers, pontoons and floating docks. The immersion depth, the water type (fresh, brackish or sea water) and whether the cable stays permanently immersed are confirmed for each order.
If the pump on a dredger, pontoon or floating dock also needs auxiliary control conductors inside the same screened cable, the (N)TSCGEWCUEUS 6/10 kV pump power and control cable combines three 50 mm² phase cores with four 0.5 mm² auxiliary cores.
Selection checks

NTSCGECEWOU cable FAQ
What is NTSCGECEWOU cable?
NTSCGECEWOU cable is the keyboard spelling of NTSCGECEWÖU, which TEBAOFLEX writes (N)TSCGECEWÖU: a flexible medium-voltage rubber cable rated from 3.6/6 kV to 12/20 kV. TEBAOFLEX builds it with an individual tinned copper wire screen on each core for cable reels and trailing duty on mobile mining machines, and with separate earth cores and a black sheath for submersible pumps and dredgers; the rating available in each construction is confirmed at quotation.
Are NTSCGECEWOU, NTSCGECEWÖU and NTSCGECEWOEU the same cable?
Yes. Ö is written O or OE when the umlaut is not available, so NTSCGECEWOU, NTSCGECEWOEU and NTSCGECEWÖU name the same designation. (N)TSCGECEWÖU marks a construction with reference to DIN VDE 0250-813, which is how TEBAOFLEX designates this cable.
Is (N)TSCGECEWÖU a VDE-certified cable?
No. TEBAOFLEX writes (N) in front of the designation to mark a construction built with reference to the DIN VDE 0250 series, here DIN VDE 0250-813, rather than an approved VDE standard type; it is not a VDE certification mark. State the test reports and any third-party inspection you need in the enquiry.
What does 3×35+3×25/3 mean on a medium-voltage reeling cable?
Three 35 mm² power cores plus a 25 mm² protective conductor that is divided into three equal parts. In the screened reeling construction of (N)TSCGECEWÖU each part is the tinned copper wire screen around one power core, so every core carries its own screen and the three screens together form the protective conductor.
Which factory tests were made on a 12/20 kV (N)TSCGECEWÖU order?
The 12/20 kV 3×35+3×25/3 order supplied on two drums to a mine in Poland passed an AC voltage test at 29 kV for 5 minutes without breakdown and measured 2.0 pC of partial discharge against a 10 pC limit and 0.529 Ω/km of conductor resistance against the 0.565 Ω/km IEC 60228 limit; insulation resistance, continuity and dimensions were also checked, and the buyer's QC inspector witnessed the tests. Test voltages and limits for another order are agreed in its specification, because they depend on the standard the project works to.
Can NTSCGECEWOU cable be used as a submersible pump cable?
Yes. NTSCGECEWOU cable for submersible pumps is built with separate EPR-insulated earth cores, a tinned copper wire braid and a black 5GM3 outer sheath. The immersion depth, the water type and whether the cable stays permanently immersed are confirmed for each order, so state them in the enquiry with the pump rating and the cable length.

Both tables come from the factory acceptance test report of a 12/20 kV order supplied on two drums for a bucket-wheel excavator in Poland, except the conductor class and the 3GI3 insulation grade, which come from the order's construction sheet; the buyer's QC inspector witnessed the tests on 27 September 2026. The requirements are those set in that report, and only the conductor resistance limit is an IEC 60228 value. Insulation resistance per kilometre is the reading multiplied by the length in kilometres, so the reading of about 5,000 MΩ meets the report's 20 MΩ·km minimum on any length above 4 m. The test record with photographs is on the bucket-wheel excavator reeling cable case page.
Source notes
- The measured values belong to one delivered order and its two drums; the data sheet, the tests and any test report for a new order are agreed at quotation.
- Current ratings are not listed on this page because they depend on the installation, the ambient temperature and the number of energised layers on a cable reel; state the load current and the installation in the enquiry.
- The maximum conductor temperature in operation and in a short circuit, the ambient temperature range, the maximum tensile load and the minimum bending radius for a reel are confirmed on the order data sheet.
Supply and ordering
- Minimum order quantity: 50 m, for standard and custom constructions.
- Cut lengths: supplied cut to the ordered length; state the required length per drum in the RFQ.
- Typical lead time: 7–45 working days depending on size, construction and order details; the written quotation governs.
- Outer sheath colour: red 5GM5 for the screened reeling construction and black 5GM3 for the submersible-duty construction.
- Packing and marking: drum size, cable marking and the document package are confirmed at quotation.
NTSCGECEWOU standards and test documents
These references are named for the constructions on this page; the last two rows cover the order test report and the certification status. They are not certifications TEBAOFLEX holds for this product, and nothing on this page should be read as a VDE certification, a CE marking, a UL or CSA certification or a mine-safety agency approval.
