KGE, KGESh and KGETSh 1.14 to 6kV GOST Mining Cable
Flexible screened rubber trailing cables engineered to GOST 24334 and GOST 31945 at 1.14 kV (1140 V) and 6 kV (6000 V) AC for CIS, Central Asian and Eastern European mining projects. Covers open-pit excavator cable KGE / KGE-KhL (-60 C Arctic option), underground coal-shaft cable KGESh with semi-conducting rubber screens, and heat- and torsion-resistant shearer cable KGETSh (90 C conductor). MOQ 50 m; lead time 7 to 45 working days.
Mining operations across Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Mongolia, Eastern Europe and CIS-designed mineral projects rely on the GOST screened flexible rubber cable hierarchy—designated KGE (КГЭ), KGE-KhL (КГЭ-ХЛ), KGESh (КГЭШ) and KGETSh (КГЭТШ)—to power 6 kV open-pit electric rope shovels (such as EKG-5A, EKG-8I, EKG-10 and EKG-15) and 1.14 kV underground coal-face shearers, roadheaders and shuttle cars.
Unlike Western cables that use braided metallic phase shields alone, the Russian GOST screened architecture relies on extruded conductive/semi-conducting elastomeric rubber screens (E = Ekranirovannyi) over both the conductor and the EPR/rubber insulation of the three power cores and auxiliary control core, laid around a conductive elastomeric central cradle in underground shaft designs. When a rock fall or mechanical pinch compresses the cable, the semi-conducting phase screen immediately contacts the grounded central cradle or protective earth conductor, tripping the mine fast-acting leakage relay before an open arc can ignite methane or coal dust.
Selecting the correct designation matches the mechanical and thermal environment: KGE (1.14 kV and 6 kV) serves surface excavators and drills down to -40 C (or -60 C in Arctic KGE-KhL execution); KGESh (1.14 kV) features a flame-retardant polychloroprene shaft sheath (Sh = Shakhtnyi) for underground coal faces; and KGETSh (1.14 kV) upgrades to 90 C heat-resistant EPR insulation (T = Teplostoikii) plus synthetic anti-torsion reinforcement for high-output longwall shearers. TEBAOFLEX manufactures this range from a 50 m MOQ with a 7 to 45 working day lead time.

Construction
The horizontal sample illustrates the GOST 24334 / 31945 screened mining cable architecture (represented by 1.14 kV KGESh / KGETSh and 6 kV KGE), showing three flexible Class 5 copper phase conductors with semi-conducting rubber conductor and insulation screens, one screened auxiliary control core, one grounding conductor, conductive elastomeric central cradle, synthetic reinforcing braid (on KGETSh) and heavy-duty flame-retardant polychloroprene or cold-resistant rubber outer sheath.

| Component | Material and construction |
|---|---|
| Power, Control & Earth Conductors (Class 5 Copper) | Three flexible stranded copper phase conductors (10 mm2 to 150 mm2), one auxiliary/control conductor (4 mm2 to 10 mm2) and one protective earth conductor (4 mm2 to 50 mm2) per GOST 22483 (IEC 60228 Class 5). |
| Semi-Conducting Elastomeric Conductor Screen | Extruded conductive rubber layer over each phase conductor equalizing electric field stress and preventing internal ionization. |
| EPR / Rubber Dielectric (75 C vs 90 C KGETSh) | Ozone- and heat-resistant rubber / EPR insulation rated 75 C continuous on standard KGE / KGESh and 90 C continuous on heat-resistant KGETSh. |
| Semi-Conducting Insulation Screen | Extruded conductive rubber screen over each insulated phase core and auxiliary control core for instantaneous crush/leakage fault detection. |
| Central Conductive Cradle (KGESh / KGETSh) | Profiled semi-conducting rubber central core cradle separating the power and control cores while providing continuous earth-fault contact geometry. |
| Anti-Torsion Reinforcement & Outer Sheath | Heavy-duty solar/cold-resistant rubber jacket on KGE (-40 C) and KGE-KhL (-60 C); flame-retardant oil-resistant polychloroprene sheath on KGESh, plus open synthetic anti-torsion braid between double sheaths on KGETSh. |
Applications
Specify KGE, KGE-KhL, KGESh or KGETSh cables for 1.14 kV underground coal machinery and 6 kV open-pit electric excavators designed to GOST electrical standards.

- 6 kV open-pit electric rope shovels (EKG-5A, EKG-8I, EKG-10, EKG-12, EKG-15), walking draglines and rotary blasthole drills using KGE or Arctic KGE-KhL (-60 C) trailing cables.
- 1.14 kV (1140 V) underground coal longwall shearers, roadheaders, loading machines and face conveyors using flame-retardant KGESh or reinforced heat-resistant KGETSh cables.
- Mobile substation feeders and portable distribution boxes in Central Asian, Mongolian and Eastern European underground and surface mines operating on 1140 V and 6000 V 50 Hz networks.
- Direct metric GOST replacements where Western AWG-sized SHD-GC (Product 2134) or DIN VDE (N)TSCGEWOU (Product 1956) cables do not match Russian semi-conducting leakage relay impedances or gland diameters.
