UL 3232 Silicone Wire with Optional Nylon Cover, 105°C 300V
UL 3232 is a UL-certified 105°C, 300 V AC wire for totally enclosed appliance wiring. It uses tinned stranded copper with silicone-rubber insulation. An optional extruded nylon covering forms a separate outer layer; nylon is not a substitute for the silicone insulation.

UL 3232 wire selection
UL 3232 is a UL-certified 105°C, 300 V AC wire for totally enclosed appliance wiring. It uses tinned stranded copper with silicone-rubber insulation. An optional extruded nylon covering forms a separate outer layer; nylon is not a substitute for the silicone insulation.
The six dimensioned configurations cover 26–16 AWG with a 0.44 mm nominal silicone wall and a 0.11 mm nylon covering. Finished diameters range from 1.59 mm to 2.60 mm. Each configuration identifies both layers so the purchaser can distinguish a nylon-covered lead from an uncovered silicone version before checking fit inside a harness or terminal enclosure.
The covering choice affects stripping preparation and the finished diameter used in assembly drawings. Include it explicitly when replacing an existing lead, particularly where an entry sleeve or terminal boot was selected around the covered construction. The 105°C rating should also remain visible in the equipment specification; the use of silicone insulation does not make this style interchangeable with higher-temperature silicone lead wires.

Construction

Applications
UL 3232 is intended for appliance internal wiring inside a complete enclosure. The nylon-covered version can be specified where the assembly drawing requires that additional covering over silicone.
