YnOGY / YnOGYek / YnOGYekm PVC Mining Cable 0.6/1 kV
Flexible 0.6/1 kV PVC mining cable with Class 5 copper conductors, protective conductors and optional control cores. Choose unscreened YnOGY, semiconductive-screened YnOGYek or individually braid-screened YnOGYekm.
YnOGY mining cable is a flexible 0.6/1 kV power cable for stationary and portable mine equipment. Its Class 5 copper conductors have PVC insulation, with an inner PVC sheath and a yellow flame-retardant outer sheath. The YnOGY, YnOGYek and YnOGYekm constructions provide different screening arrangements within the same power, protective and control-circuit selection family.
Select the circuit layout before choosing the conductor size. Unscreened YnOGY is available with four conductors for three-phase power and protection, or with five or seven conductors when one or three control circuits are required. YnOGYek has three individually semiconductive-screened power cores, one bare protective conductor and one insulated control core. YnOGYekm uses individual copper-wire and plastic-thread braid screens, with five- and seven-conductor arrangements.
Choose the screen to match the mine installation. YnOGY serves areas without an explosion hazard. The screened constructions address the specified methane and coal-dust application categories; the equipment protection arrangement and local mine classification remain part of cable selection. Their individual power-core screens have different materials and should be identified explicitly in the enquiry.
The tables retain each model’s complete conductor configuration, maximum diameter and cable weight. They also separate model-specific electrical data. Provide the full model and configuration, route length, installation duty, mine classification and termination details for quotation. Allow a minimum bend radius of 6 times the cable diameter in fixed installation and 10 times the diameter for movable equipment connections.

For armoured underground roadway distribution and screened face-machine feeders, compare these mining cable constructions: Fixed Mining Power Cable — PVC / HEPR, SWA / STA Options (for PVC or 90 °C HEPR-insulated stationary mining power cables with SWA or STA metallic armour); Mine Feeder Type 1 Screened Machine Cable 1.1/1.1 kV (for 1.1/1.1 kV individually screened flexible rubber feeder cables supplying underground coal-face machines). Verify whether the route is a fixed gallery hanger run or a semi-mobile machine supply before ordering.
Construction
The representative image shows unscreened YnOGY 3 × 6 + 6 mm²: three power cores and one black corrugated protective core arranged compactly around a central filler, with PVC inner and yellow outer sheaths. The screened ek and ekm variants use the separate constructions below.

| Component | Material and construction |
|---|---|
| Conductors | Flexible stranded copper, Class 5 to PN-EN 60228. |
| Core insulation | Special PVC. Power-core colours: natural, red and blue. |
| YnOGY protective and control cores | Black corrugated protective core; one control core brown, or three control cores natural, red and blue. |
| YnOGY core assembly | Insulated conductors laid up around a central filler; no individual electrical screen. |
| YnOGYek power-core screen | Semiconducting compound extruded over each insulated power core. |
| YnOGYekm power-core screen | Individual braid of copper wire and plastic thread around each power core. |
| Screened-variant core assembly | Screened power cores and insulated control cores laid up around an uninsulated copper protective conductor. |
| Inner sheath | PVC. |
| Outer sheath | Yellow special PVC with increased flame-propagation resistance; oxygen index greater than 29. |
Applications
Use the model-specific screen and conductor layout to supply stationary or portable electrical equipment in underground, open-pit and strip mining installations.

- YnOGY: equipment power supply in mine areas without an explosion hazard.
- YnOGYek and YnOGYekm: screened equipment connections for the specified methane classes a, b and c and coal-dust classes A and B; state the site classification and acceptance requirements with the enquiry.
- Four-conductor YnOGY layouts for three power circuits and one protective circuit.
- Five- and seven-conductor layouts where the equipment needs an additional one or three control circuits.
- Supported fixed routes and movable equipment connections within the stated bend and installation-temperature limits.
- Coordinate glands, strain relief and the protective-conductor connection with the complete cable configuration.

A configuration such as YnOGYek 3 × 10 + 10 + 6 mm² means three 10 mm² power conductors, one 10 mm² protective conductor and one 6 mm² control conductor.
Electrical values belong to the named screen construction. The current table uses AC or DC operation below 25°C; apply route, grouping and thermal corrections for the actual installation.
Maximum diameters and calculated weights are configuration-specific. Check cable entries and handling arrangements against the complete ordering designation.
Select the cable with the mine’s equipment-protection and acceptance requirements; identify the methane and coal-dust class in the enquiry.
