Flexible PVC Control Cable – Y, YCY and 600 V VCT
Flexible multicore PVC cables for machinery, control circuits and equipment connections. Choose unscreened Y, braided-screen YCY, 600 V VCT or screened VCT-SB by voltage, shielding and installation requirements.
Flexible PVC control cable connects machine controls, measuring circuits and electrical equipment where the cable must accommodate installation bends and specified movement. This range covers unscreened Y, copper-braid-screened YCY, 600 V VCT and screened VCT-SB constructions. Each family has its own voltage, dimensions and operating conditions.
Y uses flexible Class 5 copper conductors with PVC insulation and a grey PVC sheath for indoor control and measuring circuits. YCY adds a tinned copper braid beneath a transparent PVC sheath for interference-sensitive connections. The Y table is rated 300/500 V; YCY sizes up to 1.5 mm² are rated 300/500 V, while the listed sizes from 2.5 mm² are rated 450/750 V.
VCT and VCT-SB provide separate 600 V equipment-cable selections with two, three or four cores. VCT is unscreened; VCT-SB incorporates a braid screen. Their size tables retain the conductor stranding, cable diameter and weight for the corresponding construction. For oil-exposed equipment leads, specify an O-VCT construction in the enquiry.
Start with the circuit voltage and screening requirement, then select core count and conductor area. G designations in the Y and YCY tables include a green/yellow protective conductor; X designations do not. Give TEBAOFLEX the cable type, configuration, length, installation route and movement conditions for quotation. For continuous cable-chain motion, select a cable specifically designed for that duty. Compare the related PUR control cables by insulation, sheath material and screening arrangement.

Construction
The unscreened and screened constructions are listed separately. The illustration shows a representative Y 4G1 cable: three black insulated conductors and one green/yellow protective conductor in a compact square arrangement beneath a grey PVC sheath.

| Component | Material and construction |
|---|---|
| Y and YCY conductors | Flexible bare copper, Class 5 to IEC 60228 / DIN VDE 0295. |
| Y construction | PVC core insulation and grey PVC outer sheath; no metallic screen. |
| YCY construction | PVC core insulation, overall tinned copper braid and transparent PVC outer sheath. |
| Y / YCY core identification | Black cores with continuous white numbers; G includes a green/yellow protective core and X has no green/yellow core. YCY JB configurations use coloured cores. |
| VCT construction | Flexible stranded copper with PVC insulation and PVC sheath, without a screen. The conductor stranding and wall thicknesses are listed in the VCT tables. |
| VCT-SB construction | Flexible stranded copper, PVC insulation, braid screen and black PVC outer sheath. |
| VCT / VCT-SB core colours | Two cores: black and white. Three cores: black, white and red. Four cores: black, white, red and green. |
| O-VCT option | Oil-resistant VCT construction for equipment connections specified for oil exposure. |
Applications
Match the selected construction to the control circuit, electromagnetic environment and equipment installation conditions.

- Y control and measuring circuits in machine tools, conveyors, production machinery and air-conditioning equipment.
- Y flexible connections under medium mechanical stress in dry, moist or wet indoor rooms; this construction is not intended for open-air installation.
- YCY screened control, measuring and electronic signal connections in machinery and computer-controlled equipment.
- VCT 600 V flexible electrical equipment and appliance connections.
- VCT-SB 600 V equipment connections requiring braid screening.
- O-VCT for oil-exposed leads specified by the equipment installation; provide the oil type, exposure and temperature with the enquiry.

The G or X core count is the total number of cores. For example, Y 4G1 contains four 1 mm² cores, including one green/yellow protective conductor.
YCY JB identifies coloured cores. The numbered-core and coloured-core ranges are shown in separate tables.
The YCY voltage column applies to the listed construction and conductor area. The 600 V VCT and VCT-SB tables are separate equipment-cable ranges.
VCT conductor dimensions, insulation thickness and resistance values apply to the listed two-, three- and four-core VCT sizes. VCT-SB has its own size and electrical-data table.
In VCT and VCT-SB stranding, 30/0.18 means 30 wires of 0.18 mm diameter; 7/20/0.45 means seven bundles of 20 wires of 0.45 mm diameter.
Reference currents require correction for installation, grouping and ambient conditions. Outside diameters and weights are approximate; the supplied construction is defined in the quotation.
