Mining VFD Cable 2000 V — 3 Power + 3 Ground + Ground Check
Flexible 2000 V mining VFD cable with three EPR-insulated power cores, three green-insulated grounds and a yellow ground-check conductor. Overall tinned-copper braid and aluminum/polyester foil sit beneath a reinforced CPE jacket; conductor sizes run from 2 AWG to 500 kcmil.
Mining VFD cable 2000V connects variable-frequency AC drives to mining motors using three power conductors, three insulated grounding conductors and a separate ground-check circuit. This round cable combines 90°C Type II EPR insulation, an overall braid-and-foil shield and a reinforced thermosetting CPE jacket for surface and underground mining equipment.
Select the ground-check arrangement with the equipment wiring diagram. A central 16 AWG extensible ground-check conductor is available, while non-central ground-check wires have a minimum size of 14 AWG. The three green grounding cores provide the protective-earth conductors; the yellow ground-check core serves the monitoring circuit. These functions remain separate from the overall electromagnetic shield.
The size table covers nine power-conductor sizes from 2 AWG to 500 kcmil and includes the corresponding grounding sizes, jacket thickness, outside diameter, weight and current reference. Current ratings use a 90°C conductor and 40°C ambient air. The ambient-temperature and wound-layer tables help identify the thermal conditions that must be included in cable selection.
For an enquiry, provide the drive and motor ratings, power-conductor size, required length, ground-check position and cable-management arrangement. Include the drive output waveform, cable route and termination details so the insulation duty, screen bonding and available bend space can be coordinated. Use the outside diameter and its manufacturing tolerance when selecting glands, supports and protective hardware.

Construction
The representative 2/0 AWG construction has three equal power cores in a compact triangle, three smaller green-insulated 5 AWG grounding cores in the outer interstices, and one small yellow-insulated central 16 AWG ground-check conductor. One overall aluminum/polyester foil and tinned-copper braid shield surrounds the complete assembly beneath a reinforced black CPE jacket.

Applications
Use this screened 2000 V construction for mining AC motor drives that require three power cores, three insulated grounding conductors and a ground-check monitoring circuit.

- Variable-frequency AC motor drive connections on surface and underground mining equipment.
- Mobile mining power systems with equipment-specific cable support, handling and ground-check monitoring arrangements.
- Drive-to-motor circuits requiring an overall braid-and-foil electromagnetic shield alongside separate protective-earth and ground-check conductors.
- Mine motor installations where conductor temperature, ambient air temperature and wound cable layers are included in current selection.
- Select the central or non-central ground-check arrangement to match the equipment terminals and monitoring circuit; coordinate shield bonding with the drive and motor installation.

The current table uses continuous operation at a 90°C conductor temperature and 40°C ambient air. Apply the relevant ambient and cable-management conditions to the installation design.
For a central ground-check configuration, specify the 16 AWG extensible conductor. For non-central ground-check wires, the minimum size is 14 AWG; state the required number and position with the enquiry.
Nominal diameters are subject to ±5% manufacturing tolerance. Metric dimensions shown alongside inch values are rounded conversions.
Weights are approximate and stated in lb/1000 ft. Match the selected cable size, grounding arrangement and terminations before ordering.
Confirm the reel arrangement, bend radius, pulling conditions and drive waveform for the equipment installation. The wound-layer factors describe current derating and do not define a mechanical reeling speed.
