Fixed tunnel feeders may use screened or armoured MV cable such as 2XSEYQY; Type W supports applicable portable power without ground-check; Type G-GC adds grounding and ground-check; SHD-GC covers shielded portable mining power in the published 2–25 kV range. Powered reels and LHDs need a cable matched to drum diameter, pull, speed and cycles, such as NSHTOEU 0.6/1 kV. TBM routes may require an MV reeling construction such as (N)TSCGECWOU. Confirm conductor arrangement, bend route, mechanical loads, jacket exposure, terminations, standard and documents before ordering.

A mining cable is not selected by voltage alone. The same machine may need a fixed feeder, a dragged trailing cable and a powered-reel cable, each with different bend, tensile, torsion, abrasion and grounding limits. Mining and Tunneling Cable Families

Fixed tunnel and mine distribution: screened or armoured medium-voltage feeders such as 2XSEYQY 6/10 kV tunnel power cable for approved fixed routes.
Trailing cable for mobile equipment: flexible Type W, Type G-GC, SHD-GC and comparable constructions for drills, loaders, pumps, cutters and portable substations. Confirm grounding and ground-check functions rather than treating the cable names as interchangeable.
Mining reeling cable: cable for LHDs, shovels, draglines, stackers, reclaimers and powered drums. Drum diameter, winding layers, speed, pull, guides and cycle count control the construction.

What Determines Mining and Tunneling Cable Price?
A reliable mining cable price depends on more than conductor metal. The quotation is affected by voltage class, copper cross-section, core and pilot arrangement, screen or armour, jacket material, reinforcement, minimum order length, drum packing, test documents, certification scope, delivery destination and the mechanical duty. Reeling and trailing cable often require a higher mechanical specification than a fixed cable with the same conductor size.
For an apples-to-apples comparison, ask suppliers to state the published construction, voltage, conductor size, grounding or ground-check arrangement, minimum bending radius, permitted tensile load, environmental rating, test basis and documentation included. A low price without the same duty and document scope is not a like-for-like replacement.
